Country on the River 2014 Festival

Country on the River is back and bigger than ever for its fifth year! Once again rocking the event's grounds just outside Prairie du Chien, Country on the River promises to be the big party it has been in previous years, plus some.

Spanning August 7-9, Country on the River 2014 will feature the star studded music line-up of Jason Aldean, The Band Perry, Thompson Square, Kix Brooks, Sawyer Brown, Dustin Lynch, Parmalee, and many more. The event will kick off Thursday, August 7th, with a free show. Tickets for the Friday and Saturday's shows are available online starting at $80 for one day or $95 for two; VIP ticket and lounge options are also available at a steeper price. The festival is family friendly, and children under 5 get in free.

The gates open at 5:00pm Thursday, and parking will be available at a discounted $10. On Friday, the gates open at 11:00am and the party lasts long in to the night. The fun continues bright and early Saturday, when the gates open at 11:00am once again.

Camping is available starting at $85 for a tent site and $109 for an RV site, with the package spanning five days, from Monday to Saturday. Make sure to check out the campsite rules, to see what's okay to pack. The campsite itself is pet-friendly; however pets are not allowed on the festival grounds.

New this year to the event, is Country on the River's Next Big Star competition. Singers will have the opportunity to qualify for the competition by participating in contests hosted by radio stations across Iowa and Wisconsin. The competition culminates in a sing-off Thursday on the main stage, with the winner receiving a $1000 cash prize and 6 VIP tickets to the show. Don't miss it!

Adding to the appeal is the variety of attractions around Prairie du Chien. Visitors to the lovely riverfront town can find a huge array of activities and events available to them. August features historic tours, war exhibits, wine tasting, and cave tours, among many other things. Owing to its remarkable location on the Mississippi River is Prairie du Chien's affinity with river cruises. Available in August are the wildlife river cruise, sunset cruise, river tour, and Friday night "Music on the River" cruise. There is no shortage of things to do in the area!
